Once you have posted a new entry to your blog, you can "ping" search engines and blog directories and have your blog re-assessed and indexed in as little as 48 hours.

Pinging alerts the search engines and directories that you have updated your content and gets them to scan your site again and use the new information in their placement algorithm.

Be sure to submit your blog to Google as well as to the following blog search engines and directories:

Translate your blog into several languages

Apparantly there is a Wordpress addon that costs around $30 to translate your blogs that is really great.. I cannot seem to find it anywhere.. so if anyone knows where it is, please reply to this post and I'll update this for everyone.

 Write a message to your blog at least 3 times a week.

Blogging is great for so many reasons, but most importantly, blogs can drive traffic to your site, get you ranked higher in search engines, be seen as an expert, has RSS capabilities, and is more "personal" than a website.
